Pacific Douglas / Summerfield

Intro
Known for its rural feel and connection to nature, the community is now home to some of South Surrey’s newest neighbourhoods with new detached homes and townhomes and plenty of future growth planned by the City of Surrey.

Location
Pacific Douglas is as south as you can get in Canada. Tucked right up next to the US border between the Peach Arch and Truck crossings.

Housing Insights
Originally spotted with hobby farms and open fields, executives and young families alike are now calling this community home. Summerfield is one of the largest housing communities that have been built in the area and it’s now a vibrant home to many young professionals and downsizers. A new school and commercial centre are also in the works in the area.

Schools
Hall’s Prairie and Pacific Heights elementary schools service the area. The City of Surrey has set aside land in the community for future construction of a local school near Summerfield and additional park space.  High school students attend Earl Marriott Secondary near White Rock. Independent Southridge School with grades from K – 12 is also located close by. 

Shopping
With plans for future retail and commercial development along 176th Street in Pacific Douglas, currently, the Campbell River Store is a gathering place for locals looking for groceries, gas and a bank machine. Surrounded by excellent shopping, dining and entertainment, residents of this special South Surrey enclave head to King George Boulevard or the shops and services of Blaine, Washington just across the border.

Recreation
Pacific Douglas is a golfer’s paradise with Peace Portal and the Peach Arch Golf Centre right in the area. In addition, the Meridian Park 3 and the Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club are both just a few minutes away. Semiamhoo Beach, Peace Arch Provincial Park and hiking or dog walking along Little Campbell River are popular outdoor pursuits with local residents.
