White Rock

Intro
White Rock is a popular and charming seaside destination home to approximately 20,000 residents and one 486 tonne white boulder. White Rock specializes in restaurants serving fresh seafood, steaks, fish & chips, tapas, French style bistros and pubs. The promenade, an 8km strip alongside a sandy beach, is dotted with numerous trendy boutiques, ice cream shops and a 2,000 foot pier first opened in 1914. 

Location
White Rock borders Semiahmoo Bay and is surrounded on three sides by South Surrey neighbourhoods. It is just 45 km from Vancouver and 5 minutes from the Canada/US border.

Downtown White Rock has many independent retailers to enhance your shopping experience. The Five Corners is a popular spot for dining out and the White Rock strip along Marine Drive is full of restaurants and boutique shops. Designated as a small city in itself, White Rock has all the modern shopping amenities in town or along its borders. 

Recreation
The main destination of White Rock visitors is the Marine Dr promenade and its famous 2,000 foot pier. Frequently compared to California, White Rock offers beautiful beaches, numerous green parks and water sports such as swimming, kayaking and canoeing. Centennial Park in the heart of White Rock has a leisure centre, ice arena, curling club and ravine trails. Just up the road is the South Surrey Athletic Park, including Softball City (a baseball-themed sports complex with batting cages and sports grill), and the South Surrey Arena (home base for the BCHL Surrey Eagles), with one of only two Olympic-sized ice rinks in the Lower Mainland.
