Elgin Chantrell

A beautiful west coast community located in the “Peninsula” of South Surrey, Elgin Chantrell hosts lovely estate homes, great schools, lots of park space, quaint coffee shops, and a small golf course.

Location
Elgin Chantrell is accessed from the first South Surrey/White Rock exit off of HWY 99. It is primarily a residential community and bordered by the Nicomekl River to the North, King George to the East, Sunnyside Park to the South, and Crescent Beach/Ocean Park to the West. This area includes South Surrey’s most desirable carefully planned neighbourhoods, some backing onto greenbelts. 

Housing Insights
Elgin Chantrell is home to a number of extensively well-planned residential communities each with their own community name and characteristics. Estate homes are common in the area, especially along the coveted Crescent Rd over looking the Nicomekl River and Boundary Bay. The Nico-Wynd golf course also offers green side townhome options for those looking to have golf course amenities year round.

Schools
As part of the Surrey School Board, this region hosts some of the best schools in the lower mainland. Elgin Chantrell offers 3 elementary schools: Chantrell Creek, Crescent Park, and Semiahoo Trail; and one high school Elgin Park. The nearby Semiahmoo Secondary also provides an application based International Baccalaureate High School Program. Plus Southridge Private School and Star of the Sea Catholic School contribute to higher levels of private school education in the area.

Shopping
Elgin Corners provides some local services to the immediate area, including specialty food store Anthony & Sons. The South Point Exchange and the neighboring Shops at High Street on King George Boulevard include boutiques, several fine restaurants, Starbucks and big box stores such as: Save-On-Foods, Canadian Tire, and Home Sense. In addition the Semiahmoo Mall and the Shops at Morgan Crossing are both located only 5 minutes away and offer shops, restaurants, banks and more.

Recreation
The Nico-Wynd public golf course is a great after work relaxer or weekend afternoon getaway. The course is also home to tennis courts and access to the Semiahmoo trails along Nicomekl River. Crescent Park and Dogwood “Dog” Park are two other popular spots in the area to get outside.
